The first Fosen Bridge Conference was held at Ørland Kultursenter, Brekstad on Tuesday September 22, 2020

The idea is that similar conferences will be held at certain intervals to update interested parties about status and news from their own or national work with significance for the projects.

There was a good participation with around 90 participants, and the premises at the center worked well in relation to the infection control rules (Covid 19) that apply to such events.

Below is the program for the conference and all the presentations.

We thank our sponsors and partners at Fosen.

Fosenbru Conference 2020

We have envisaged that we will now arrange Fosenbru conferences, either every two years, depending on how much new material it will be. The first of its kind was scheduled for June 3 or 4, 2020 at the Ørland Cultural Center in Brekstad. It is now clear that it must be postponed until such events can be held.

We have so far been in a phase of basic investigations, while we are now into a new phases in which we are preparing projects. We want people at Fosen and others to be able to keep up with this work, as well as the more general developments in areas that are important to the projects.

It will be a one-day conference, and the program that was prepared consisted of, among other things:

The forecast calculations Fosen 2060
Population, jobs and traffic ahead by the year 2060
Michelle Delapaz / Linda Alfheim, Norconsult Oslo

Stjørnfjord crossing
Status of planning work for crossing the fjord, the Stadsbygd tunnel, and new or improved road Fevåg-Rissa

Technology development linked to E39 Bjørnafjorden in Hordaland
Ferry-free E39 Sub-project Fjordcrossing Mathias Eidem, Norwegian Public Roads Administration

Case E39 Nordfjorden (Anda-Lote) – concepts and technical solutions

a. Input from the consulting group Dr. Techn. Olav Olsen / Prodtex
Anette Fjeld, Dr. Techn. Olav Olsen, Oslo

b. Input from the consultant group Multikonsult / Johs. Holt / Entail / LMG Marin
Geir Lasse Kjersem, LMG Marin Bergen

Automated production lines for laser welding of steel structures
What can they mean for usage costs?
Business Development Director Tore Roppen, Prodtex AS

A production line at Sunnmøre is supported by both the Ferry-free E39 project In the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and Innovation Norway. The first delivery will be a pedestrian and bicycle road bridge “untouched by human hands” in Åfjord municipality during the fall of 2020.

Financing
Share capital, and Norwegian and international funds as a source of financing

Regional effects of mainland connection
Dr. Techn. Stig Nyland Andersen, Norwegian Public Roads Administration Bergen
He has recently taken a PhD degree at NTNU with the assignment “The impact of fixed link projects to islands on accessibility and population development”.

Otherwise, we plan input from various stakeholders, with subsequent debate and input from the auditorium. We will return to this when a new date is clarified.

Investigation program for business

Soon we will invite business and industry to collaborate on an investigation program for business and industry at Fosen. We envision that subcommittees will look at aquaculture, agriculture, real estate, industry, trade and service, and the business community otherwise.

The themes will be how new infrastructure can affect recruitment and access to labor, productivity, value creation, growth, and Fosens and Trøndelag’s attractiveness as a working region.

The Fosenbru projects in the short and long term

We are now seeing the end of a few years with several basic investigations, and as mentioned above, we are now entering new phases where we are preparing projects. A significant part of this will be planning and impact analysis in accordance with the Planning and Building Act for connections and crossing the Stjørnfjord.

Other topics will include environmental data for waves, wind and electricity, design basis for the cruise, financing analysis, contracting and implementation strategies, etc.
We will come back on this one.

Sincerely

Olav Ellevset
